On the occasion of National Voluntary Blood Donation day, District Administration Udupi, Zilla Panchayat Udupi, District Health and Family Welfare office, Udupi, District Aids and prevention Control unit, Udupi, Blood Bank District Hospital, Udupi, N.S S and Rotaract unit of Muniyal Institute of Ayurveda Medical Sciences, Manipal, Shri Adarsha College of Nursing, Udupi Dhanwantari College of Nursing, Adarsha College of Allied and Paramedical Sciences, and HPR Institute of Nursing and paramedical Sciences, Manipal and Lions Club Udupi Lakshya jointly organized Mega Voluntary Blood donation camp and Felicitation to Highest Blood Donors on 01.10.2024 at Buddhayurved Auditorium, Muniyal Institute of Ayurveda Medical Sciences, Manipal. Dr.Vidyakumari K, Deputy Commissioner & District Magistrate inaugurated the programme by lighting the Lamp. Dr.Sathyanarayana B, Principal Muniyal Institute of Ayurveda Medical Sciences, Manipal gave the presidential address stating that, youths should come forward, for blood donation voluntarily. Dr I P Gadhad, District Health and Welfare Officer, Udupi, Dr. H Ashoka, District Surgeon, District Hospital, Udupi, Dr.Veena kumari, Cheif Medical Officer, Blood Bank,District Hospital, Udupi, Prof. Sudina M. Principal, Shri Adarsh College of Nursing, Prof Ravikumar TN Principal, Adarsh College of Allied and Paramedical Science, Mrs. Divyashree Principal, HPR Institute of Nursing and Paramedical Science, Manipal, Shree Udayakumar, Administrator, Udupi Dhanvantari College of Nursing ,Santhekatte Udupi Sri Raghunath Nayak, President Lions Club lakshya, Dr.Navaneeth, N.S.S programme Officer were also present for the programme.
Dr.Vidyakumari K , IAS, Deputy Commissioner & District Magistrate felicitated the blood donors who donated highest number of times and said “Blood cannot be produced, Hence Blood donation is the only way to save the lives” and she appreciated all the blood donors.
On this occasion, Dr.Ashitha R, NSS Nodal Officer of MIAMS, Manipal hosted the event. Mr.Mahabaleshwer, District Coordinator, National Aids Control Program welcomed the gathering, Dr.Madhavi delivered the vote of thanks. Dr.Rashmi, Cordinator of Rotarct Muniyal Group of Institutions was also present on the occasion, 175 units of blood were collected on this occasion
