Awards and Achievements
Students and faculty of MIAMS, Manipal have earned top ranks and awards in academics, research, and cultural events, showcasing their excellence and dedication.
- Shripathi Acharya G, Professor and Head of the Department of Kayachikitsa, was awarded the Aryabhata Award, Indo-Bangla Friendship Award, Global Shanti Samman 2021, and Rashtra Prerana Award.
- Students of MIAMS, Manipal participated in the “Shloka Recitation” competition organized by Sharada Ayurveda College and Hospital, Mangalore on 27.01.2020, securing 2nd and 3rd prizes.
- Students of MIAMS, Manipal also participated in “Vidyavati Sanskrit Chaluvalli” held at KSOU Campus, Mysore. They achieved 1st place in Clay Modeling and 2nd place in Group Classical Dance.
- In the BAMS Degree Examinations conducted by Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore, students of Muniyal Ayurveda College, Manipal brought laurels by securing 12 ranks in various subjects. I BAMS students: Surabhi (1st Rank), Vadirajachar K (6th Rank), A. Manohara Bhat and Chaitanya (8th Rank), Prapthi Shetty (9th Rank) in Sanskrit subject. Sphoorthi M. M secured 10th Rank in Padartha Vijnana. III Year students: Ujwala (2nd Rank), Shubhalaxmi (4th Rank), N. S. Vandana Dhanalaxmi (6th Rank), Sneha M (8th Rank) in Kaumarabhritya. N. S. Vandana Dhanalaxmi also secured 8th Rank in Prasooti and Stree Roga.

- Sphatika Kalkura K, IV BAMS student, received the Best Paper Award at Spandana 2021, organized by KVG Ayurveda Medical College and Hospital in association with Muniyal Institute of Ayurveda Medical Sciences, Manipal.
- Harshitha V, IV BAMS student, received the Second Prize at the Quiz Competition organized on the occasion of International AIDS Day by the National AIDS Control Organisation.
- In the BAMS Final Year Degree Examinations conducted by Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore, students of Muniyal Ayurveda College, Manipal brought laurels by securing 19 ranks in the subject of Research Methodology, a subject pivotal in establishing the scientific basis of Ayurveda. Proficiency holders include Ms. Divya Narayanan (4th Rank), Dalal Dimple Divyesh (5th Rank), Shristi S Shetty (6th Rank), Abraham P Cherian, Lahari L, Prasanthi P P (7th Rank), Chaitra C Shetty, Shreenidhi (8th Rank), Aditya Tiwari, Arunima Raj E K, Bincy V S, Bliss Kharkylliang, Ganga Prasad Perikamana, Gopika Rajeevan, Hybi Thomas (9th Rank), Ahaliya U K, K Shruthi Murali, and Nishmitha J P (10th Rank).
- Kriti Neerpady K of the Kayachikitsa Department secured 1st Rank in Research Methodology and Biostatistics in the 1st M.D. Examinations conducted by Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore for the year 2021–2022. She also secured 7th Rank in the Kayachikitsa subject and stood overall 2nd in the Kayachikitsa Speciality. Dr. Milana secured 8th Rank in both Research Methodology and Biostatistics and Panchakarma subjects and also stood 8th overall in the Panchakarma Speciality.
- The students of Muniyal Ayurveda College, Manipal, bagged prizes in the cultural competitions “Vidyarthi Samskriti Chaluvali-3” held on 13th and 14th May at Mysore. In the Classical Group Dance event, the team comprising Ms. Chaitanya, Mayuri, Meghana, Prasiddhi, Rakshita, Steeva, Chaya, and Shalini won the 1st Prize. In the Drama section (Ekanka Nataka), the students staged their original play “Dootavakya,” which was well appreciated by the judges and audience and won the 2nd Prize. Participants included Amodh, Pavan, Mayuri, Chaitanya, Rakshita, Prasiddhi, Chaya, Chaitra, Harshita, Veena, Srinidhi, Shreya, and Manohar. Chaitanya, who portrayed Krishna, was adjudged the Best Actor, and the Best Direction award was given to Shripad Bhat.
- In the BAMS Degree Examinations conducted by Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore, the students of Muniyal Ayurveda College, Manipal brought laurels by securing ranks in various subjects. I BAMS students Sakshi Shetty secured 4th Rank in Shareera Kriya, T.N. Rashmi secured 10th Rank in Shareera Kriya, and Zainab secured 10th Rank in Shareera Rachana.
- Dr. Malini Moger, Assistant Professor, Department of Kayachikitsa, MIAMS Manipal, won the Best Oral Paper Presentation in the National Seminar on AGNIMANTHANA at SDM College of Ayurveda, Udupi on 24/02/2024 under the Faculty Category. She presented on “Understanding the Clinical Importance of Agni in Vatavyadhi with Special Reference to Gridhrasi.”

- Varuni Bayari, Assistant Professor in the Department of Agadatantra, received the Best Oral Paper Award at “AGADYAN ENLIGHTENMENT 2024,” a National Conclave on Applied Aspects of Agada Tantra held at Tilak Ayurved Mahavidyalaya, Pune. She also received the “Best Thesis Award of the Department of Agada Tantra 2024–25” by KAHER University, Belagavi, on 06/01/2025 during the Annual Gathering Function ‘Tarang 2024’ at Shri B.M.K. Ayurveda Mahavidyalaya, Belagavi, Karnataka.
- Dr. Saurabh Singh Thakur, I PG Scholar, Department of Shalya Tantra, MIAMS Manipal, received the Best Paper Presentation Award and the Overall Best Paper Award in the PG category at the National Seminar on AGNIMANTHANA held at SDM College of Ayurveda, Udupi, on 24/02/2024.
- Dr. Deepika S.N., Final Year PG Scholar from the Department of Panchakarma, and Dr. Achala, 1st Year PG Scholar from the same department, secured the 2nd Prize in the Quiz Competition held during ‘Karmavasantam,’ a hands-on training workshop conducted by Amrita School of Ayurveda, Kollam, Kerala.
- Dr. Namitha S.N., Assistant Professor, Department of Prasuti Tantra & Streeroga, Muniyal Institute of Ayurveda Medical Sciences, Manipal, secured First Position in the P.V. Tewari Memorial National Level Online Paper Presentation Competition 2025 conducted by DIKSHA Academy in association with the Kaashyapi Ayurveda Gynaecologists and Obstetricians Foundation (KAGOF), on the occasion of International Women’s Day 2025. The event recognized the strength and resilience of women globally and aimed to inspire action towards improving their health and well-being.
- Dr. Manjula, Final Year PG Scholar from the Department of Rasashastra and Bhaishajya Kalpana (RSBK), secured the 1st Prize in the Quiz Competition held during ‘Karmavasantam,’ a hands-on training workshop organized by Amrita School of Ayurveda, Kollam, Kerala.
