MIAMS grandly celebrated the 4th International Yoga Day on 21.06.2018. In association with AYUSH Department, yoga session was held at indoor stadium Ajjarkad from 7.00 am to 8.00 am. Mrs.Jyothsna, yoga lecturer from MIAMS, Manipal participated as resource person. Students of the Institute demonstrated various Yogic postures as per protocol.
Subsequently, the yogasana competition for the High school level students was inaugurated at MIAMS by honorable Chairman of the institution, Dr. M. V. Shetty, by lighting the lamp. Principal of the institution Dr. Sathyanarayana B. delivered information on Yoga. Prizes were distributed to students who had won in the yogasana competition.Ms.Spoorthi from Govt High school Hanumanthanagara bagged the first prize, Master Sudharma, from Rajivnagar Govt Highschool and Ms. Madhu Upadhyaya from Madhava Kripa School bagged the second prize in the Solo competition. The group competition was won by the students of Madhava Kripa School. Various programmes demonstrating yoga postures and virtues of yoga were done excellently by the students of the institute. Dr.Shubha welcomed and convened the programme. Dr.Veeraj Hegde, Associate Professor of Swasthavritta and Yoga delivered the vote of thanks. Demonstration and information about yogic therapy was given to the staff of Manipal press between 3.00pm to 5.00pm by Mrs.Jyothsna and students at Geetha Mandira, Near R.S.B. Sabha Bhavan Manipal.
