Mental Health Awareness Programme Held at Padavu, Alevoor

As part of the Community Outreach Programme organised on the occasion of National Ayurveda Day, Muniyal Institute of Ayurveda Medical Sciences, Manipal, conducted a Mental Health Awareness Programme at Anganavadi Kendra, Padavu, Alevoor, on August 31, 2026.

The programme was conducted in association with Anganavadi Kendra, Padavu, Alevoor and Rotary Club Samudaaya Dala.

Dr. Rashmi Kalkura, Assistant Professor, Department of Kayachikitsa, MIAMS, Manipal, delivered an awareness talk for women and children on mental health and psychological well-being. She highlighted the importance of recognising emotional and psychological concerns at an early stage and discussed healthy lifestyle practices, positive coping strategies and the importance of seeking professional support whenever required.

The session also emphasised the role of family and community support in promoting mental well-being and addressing mental health concerns at the community level.

PG Scholar Dr. Sonam Sharma and UG students Sanmathi, Vaishnavi Wadkar and Rajeshwari participated in the programme. The programme witnessed the active participation of 30 women and 15 children from the community and was successfully conducted with meaningful interaction and engagement from the participants.
