Muniyal Institute of Ayurveda Medical Sciences Manipal distributed selected medicinal plants for free of cost on the auspicious day of Guru Poornima on 31st of Junly 2015. Useful medicinal plants like Amla (Emblica officinalis), Ashoka (Saraka indica), Kokum (Garcinica indica), Nagchampa (Messua ferrea), Cinnamon (Cinnamomum zeylanica), Ramapatre(Myristica dactyloides) etc. are distributed to the interested citizens. Department of Dravyaguna (Ayurveda pharmacology) is distributing selected free medicinal plants to general public every year and more than 300 people made use of this opportunity on this year. This shows the interest to grow plants in people said Dr. Chandrakanth, Professor and Head of the department.
